Looking at these photos, it hard to believe it will be a wonderful day like that again in just a little over three months (jan, feb, mar) not even 3! .......

It starts off with me in the mud - I was doing some taxi runs, did a 180 at the end, but wasn't close enough to the end of the runway. It gets soft if you get away from the end when it is still March.

Jim D was giving a friend a ride. Lookiing over the tails of JJ and 1B you can see Bob I getting LU ready for flight. People are getting ready to fly, we had a pilots meeting, Phil announced he was retiring as VSA President, and I presented him with a framed photo of a flight he was on, and a gold watch. ... that was last year before Tom was quick on the draw with his camera - he missed the presentatin of the gold watch.

Then back to more getting ready and then launches. Good one of JJ, huh? Boy, does he look mad about something... or maybe he was just concentrating. Photo - 4th row, 5th one in from left. Looks like Ben was caught being fresh (see 6th row)...

End of the day we had a nice BBQ - Randy D did an outstanding job on the grill. Gong back up, fourth row from bottom, right side, Ginny Farnsworth flew over from Crazy Creek to join the fun. Yeah it was a good day that day. We'll have more.

Next time around, we'll try to get titles on each of the photos. You just gotta give them a meaningful file name in plain english and it'll display for us. So if you ( anybody) send any photos to me, you need to do a couple of things so people can enjoy them to the max.. --Crop each photo if you think it needs cropping - other wise dont' crop it. -- resize ..~~~~~~~~~~~~~

give each file a descriptive name, and include the date in the file name of it's approp... for example - like that photo next to Ginny - the one of Todd - that might have a title like... Quote: Mark watches-while Todd drags his glider and yells at someone 3-12-05.jpg _________________ Peter K.

Peter: Thanks for taking the time to edit and arrange the photos on the valleysoaring site. Next time, I'll be sure to crop and size these photos to the specifications you listed. I know it has taken you a lot of time to do this and the results are great. It's a real nice arrangement, capturing key moments of the event. For me, these photos bring back wonderful memories. It was one of my better photo days only because we had such a happy bunch to photograph. It was so nice to see the pilots with their families and kids hugging their parents and running around. Great stuff. _________________Tom Jue Danville, CA

Tom, Tom, Tom, YOU don't need to size or crop your photos, - actually, cropping would be good, since you are the artist. make the photo so it is composed of what you want. with those big lenses you crop while you are snapping, but with the rest of us, sometimes photos are more interesting if you can see detail, other times, it's just the scene and the setting. each person who submits the photo needs to decide on the cropping. My request for sizing was for the odd photo or two or three that I would dearly love to have to post on the web page, that capture a moment at the glider port that so many of us would enjoy seeing. I guess even for us hacks who just occasionally capture a good photo, I shouldn' t ask people to resize them ( but do crop them if you feel they need to be cropped.) I can collect them in a folder, resize them using a batch process, and post 'em. I"ll post the comments or narrative from the forum on the bottom of the photo page. - if I get comments that people ask to be, or that should be, posted with the photos. Each time I post a new web page of photos, I'll start a new thread so people can add comments to that web page. I'll try doing it with ths thread. _________________ Peter K.
