Flights in late October 2012

Started by Peter Kelly,  continued by Aaron Kiley.

Two of us had some nice flights in second half of October.  Forecast temps were ion the mid to high 80’s.  The following week  (five days later) the high temp was in the 60’s and we  had our first snow in the Sierras.

Here are some other  photos and comments to share.

Aaron is a professional photo guy, and was also using a go pro camera in flight. He snapped a few photos that he is sharing with us, but first I put a couple of his flight traces on here that I saw on OLC.  He flew the 27-JH on the 19th and the 24-OJ on the 20th.

Here is a link to a you tube video that Aaron has posted:
See a nice collection of video segments from film Aaron recorded this week – flying around Williams.

some photos taken by Aaron…

maybe he’ll comment on them….  OK, thanks Peter.  This photo was from 10/20/12 in the ASW24.  Just leaving St. John which was smoking like a volcano.  Updraft caused a mostly stationary cloud which was fun to soar around and almost above.

I have the GoPro2, which really generates a nice image.  Vibrant without being over saturated.

Looking back at St. John right after an apparent eruption.

Tow in the ASW24.  Scenery is fantastic.  Does it look this good all year?  Fields of gold, the ridges, then green mountains!
